Before I could express my admiration for your July 11 piece on Trayvon Martin they exonerated his killer.

re: Your Anslinger reference, I just published the 1937 House Ways and Means Committee hearing at which marijuana/hemp prohibition was debated (with a narrator providing context and commentary). Anslinger’s testimony is truly vile and absurd, but to my surprise the villain of this tragicomedy turned out to be Rep. Fred Vinson of Kentucky, doing a hatchet job on the American Medical Association representive (on behalf of the US Treasury Department). Here’s a summary of the hearing in Counterpunch.
